Well, I am so excited that my very first post is about applique wonder Kim Diehl. Last night Kim was the guest star at our Cozy Quilt Shop monthly Strip Club meeting and she stole the show! She delighted us with her warm personality and inspired us with some really wonderful quilts out of her soon-to-be-released new book, Simple Comforts.
Now, I'm not an applique girl because I just don't seem to find the time, although I love to admire it! But what intrigued me about Kim's stuff is a technique that creates the look of hand applique in a fraction of the time! You should have seen the Cozy Strip Clubbers scrutinizing her work. If they had magnifying glasses, I'm certain the would have used them on her stitching. How does she do it? I'll tell you what I told them.... I bet it's in the book! :-)
